There’s a new jewel in the crown of Central Florida tourism and it is at the fastest growing port of the world, Port Canaveral. A brand new seven story visitors center is a beacon to tourists and residents alike. Here they can discover what this area of Central Florida has to offer. This center serves as a fun learning experience for the whole family with exhibits that include but not limited to heritage, ecotourism, sports endeavors, space and maritime history. An observation deck with a panoramic view of the area is one of the many treats in store for the visitor.

Displays showcasing the history of the area range from the early native cultures, European explorers, lighthouse and pioneers up through the modern era of Space exploration all with a generous portion of maritime history. Visitors can learn about the bountiful activities in the area which include sports fishing, surfing, kayaking, golf, parasailing, sight-seeing of historic locations and more.

Interactive exhibits include a virtual ship's bridge from which visitors can pilot a cruise ship through the Canaveral Channel. Another is a display of the changing Brevard coastline through history. At the top on the observation deck one can view not only the operations of the port but can see the rocket gantry’s of the Kennedy Space Center, the Canaveral Lighthouse, the shining Banana and Indian River.

The 23,000 square foot building is an aesthetically pleasing design that many say looks like a giant sail, ship or even a rocket contrail. The center features an indoor and outdoor observation decks, event venues, auditorium, a gift shop and cafe.
